Ok...a client recently told me that it has been 100 weeks of dealing with Covid. I haven't done the math. I can't bear to, honestly.
What I have done, however, is listen. I have listened to so many people over the last 2 years, sitting with so many feelings. Frustration, exhaustion, fatigue, worry, anxiety, anger, grief, and...lately, just plain awkward. Yup. Lately, I am hearing people feeling unsure, confused and downright awkward when faced with old-turned-new-again experiences (greeting friends or colleagues, going out to dinner, traveling, etc.). What do I do? How do I act? What should I feel? Spoiler alert! It is quite normal to go through a phase of feeling uncertain and awkward as you navigate this transitional time. Dr. Bakalar and I had the chance to sit down and discuss these experiences with Mikel Lauren Proulx, of the Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, MD for her podcast, AIRWaves.
